Hi ya'll!!!!!!!!! here's my newest painting!!!! hahahahaha a really big and somewhat major one : ))
Flowers in the Windows
This painting was inspired by an alternative pop band called Travis. The song is easy-going, chilled and laid-back with vocals that are perfect for those lazy Sunday afternoons. What made me choose this song was because of its deeper meaning to it. This song, 'Flowers in the Windows' is actually about the beauty of pregnancy that is as beautiful as the flowers in the window.
I have chosen a color scheme that consists of a range of tertiary colors, blue and red. This color scheme has a very warm tone to it which is perfect for my song choice because the song has a very country sound to it and I also wanted to bring out the warmth of the feeling of pregnancy.
My painting features a pregnant lady wearing white and she is lying beside the windows caressing her stomach which holds her unborn baby so dearly – White was chosen as it relates a lot to pregnant women. The scene is cropped in so there is a sense of closeness, a sense of relation to pregnancy. Everyone has to have a chance of experiencing pregnancy. Be it coming out of your mother's womb or giving birth or even be those who has witnessed it. There is just this beauty to pregnancy that grows gracefully as though they were flowers. There is a very calming ambience to this painting and if you look outside the window, you will see a scenery of the beach. The beach is the perfect place of relaxing and sounds of waves and seagulls can be heard in the background of the song. I have chosen the color red for the flowers that are entwined on the window sills and grills as they compliment the color of the sky in the painting. It is also the color of love, and these flowers are all growing towards the sun and it is a good sign that they are growing strong and there is this fuel that just gives them the perseverance even though they are weak, they find ways to support themselves. Which relates a lot to pregnancy in which pregnant women is often burdened but because of a desperate want to have a child, they are willing to go through whatever comes their way. They find support along the way and they continue their journey.
